Join us for a talk and drink and a peek into the media kitchen: Each month we invite journalists, experts and their audiences to take a seat at our table for conversations on journalism and its impact. This July, we take our conversation outdoors to take stock of how journalistic collaboration contributes to a common European public sphere.

Date: 16 July 2025

Time: 18:00

Location: Garten Moritzplatz, Prinzenstraße 35 – 38 / Prinzessinnenstr. 15, 10969 Berlin

kitchen talk goes picnic: Does cross-border journalistic collaboration contribute to a European public sphere (or not)?

In the past events of the kitchen talk series, we chatted to experts about serious stuff – elections, pressures on free press, peace negotiations amid a war of aggression, or the role of media in genocide. This month, we zoom out to see the broader picture: In an open discussion with colleagues and the audience, we will explore spaces, actors, efforts and challenges for shaping a pluralistic European media landscape and a vibrant European public sphere.
